State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro of the 48th District in Illinois has been actively engaged in legislative efforts aimed at addressing crucial issues affecting the state. In a recent press conference, Rep. Sanalitro, along with fellow lawmakers, unveiled proposed legislation to combat human trafficking in Illinois. She highlighted the importance of bills like HB5469 and HB5468 in providing legal protection and recourse to victims of human trafficking.

Regarding Governor J.B Pritzker's proposed FY2025 Budget, Rep. Sanalitro expressed concerns during a presentation, stating, "Governor Pritzker’s budget address was filled with false hope, inappropriate political rhetoric, and misaligned priorities." She emphasized the challenges faced by Illinois residents, including higher living costs, safety concerns, and issues related to immigration.

Rep. Sanalitro also introduced legislative proposals for the 2024 Spring Session, focusing on anti-human trafficking efforts and tax reforms. Notably, she highlighted bills such as HB496, aimed at reducing taxes on school supplies, and HB5425, which provides a school levy exemption for senior citizens meeting specific criteria.

In a bid to support the motorcycling community, Rep. Sanalitro presented a bill in the House Transportation Committee that would expand specialty license plate options to include motorcycles. She emphasized the importance of offering motorcyclists a wider selection of license plates, similar to those available for regular cars.
