Jerry Evans, a candidate for the 11th Congressional District, recently secured the endorsement of State Sen. Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry). Wilcox, a retired Colonel from the United States Air Force who was first elected in 2017, has been recognized for his dedicated service, having earned two Bronze Star Medals.

"I am pleased to announce I have received the endorsement of Senator Craig Wilcox today," Evans said on Facebook.

In his announcement, Evans lauded Wilcox as a valuable community asset. He highlighted Wilcox's distinguished military service as a retired Colonel in the United States Air Force where he earned two Bronze Star Medals. Moreover, Evans noted the senator’s dedication to representing and advocating for his district and the people of Illinois in the state.

Wilcox underscored Evans' qualifications in his endorsement. He emphasized Evans' background as a small business owner who understands the needs of the community. 

"I am pleased to announce that I am endorsing Jerry Evans for U.S. Congress in the 11th District," Wilcox said.

According to Wilcox, Evans is a person of character and integrity who recognizes the importance of a robust economy, effective leadership, and decisive action. He also stressed Evans’ commitment to securing the southern border, addressing illegal immigration, reducing government spending, combating inflation, and promoting American energy independence to lower costs.

Evans is running his campaign with an emphasis on education and community service in the Chicago area. As a small businessman and founder of a suburban music school, he is deeply involved in mentoring and missionary training. A Wheaton College graduate with a degree in music now residing in Warrenville with his wife and sons, he participates actively in missions to India, Mexico, and South Africa. According to his campaign website, he was raised alongside his four siblings on Midwestern values of hard work and community support.

The 11th Congressional District covers most of McHenry and Kane Counties and parts of Boone, Lake, DeKalb, DuPage, Cook and Will Counties. It is currently represented by U.S. Rep. Bill Foster (D-IL). A map of the district is available on Foster’s website.
