House District 81 candidate Aaron Porter has officially launched his campaign website, providing insights into his reasons for running and outlining core goals for his potential tenure as State Representative. Porter is a lifelong Naperville resident with nearly six years of experience as a full-time police officer in the DuPage area.

"For everyone that has been asking, and for others who would like to learn a little bit more about why I’m running and some of my core goals after being elected, please visit my website!" said Porter on Facebook. "We will update this website with events and post other important information as the campaign progresses."

He continued by expressing gratitude for patience during the setup process and encouraged sharing of the website to spread the word.

On his campaign platform, Porter expressed a strong commitment to public safety as a primary motivation for entering the State Representative race.

"As a law enforcement officer, public safety is one of my biggest reasons for wanting to run for State Representative. I have seen the damages caused by recent legislation on communities throughout DuPage County, and the harm of the anti-police rhetoric by fringe groups to all of us," Porter said on his campaign website.

Porter also highlighted that he is an active member of St. Raphael Church in Naperville.

His campaign further emphasized the impact of recent legislation on communities in DuPage County and underscored the harm inflicted by anti-police rhetoric from fringe groups.

"I have seen the damages caused by recent legislation on communities throughout DuPage County, and the harm of the anti-police rhetoric by fringe groups to all of us," he added.

Porter's opponent, State Rep. Anne Stava-Murray (D-Naperville), recently signed a letter along with 15 Democrat colleagues attributing an Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israeli civilians to "inequality." The letter calls for addressing violence at its root cause by ending perceived inequality that denies basic human rights to millions of Palestinians. However, the Safe Suburbs USA PAC criticized the letter for overlooking atrocities committed by Hamas against ordinary Israelis. Illinois GOP Chairman Don Tracy also strongly condemned the signatories, calling the Hamas attack an "evil atrocity" and urging disavowal of the statement.

The 81st House District, situated in DuPage and Will counties, encompasses all or parts of Downers Grove, Lisle, Naperville, Woodridge, Darien, Westmont and Bolingbrook. The district is currently represented by State Rep. Anne Stava-Murray (D-Naperville).
