Niki Conforti, the Republican candidate for Illinois’ 6th District, shared her recent experience attending the Abstinence & Marriage Education Partnership banquet, where she had the honor of meeting Bridget Ziegler, founder of the influential conservative parent activist group "Moms For Liberty," and renowned author Pastor Erwin Lutzer of The Moody Church.
“I was honored to meet Bridget Ziegler, founder of Mom’s for Liberty, at the recent AMP banquet. Famed author and former Pastor of the Moody Bible Church, Erwin Lutzer, also spoke,” Conforti said on Facebook.
“AMP (Abstinence & Marriage Education Partnership) provides teenagers education on a counter-balance to the pervasive gender theory taught in schools today. They help prepare kids for a healthy marriage through the benefits of abstinence until marriage.”
"Moms For Liberty," founded in Florida in early 2021, has rapidly grown, boasting 115,000 members across 275 county chapters in 45 states. The group focuses on championing "parents’ rights," opposing public school programs addressing racial discrimination, gender identity, and sexuality. Notably, their endorsements have led to conservative takeovers of school boards, influencing policies such as the removal of superintendents and the prohibition of critical race theory in classrooms, according to Reckon.
Erwin Lutzer, who serves as Pastor Emeritus at The Moody Church, was also in attendance at the AMP banquet. Having dedicated 36 years as Senior Pastor, Lutzer has become an influential figure in both the church and literary realms.
Beyond his pastoral duties, he is an award-winning author with a collection of over twenty books. Lutzer’s global impact extends through his role as an international conference speaker and the voice behind three radio programs—The Moody Church Hour, Songs in the Night, and Running to Win.
These programs reach audiences through platforms such as the Moody Broadcasting Network, the Bible Broadcasting Network, Trans World Radio, and numerous Christian radio stations worldwide.
The 6th Congressional District includes parts of Cook County, eastern DuPage County, and the far Southwest Side of Chicago.
