 2023 BAWIB Scholarship Application - Deadline March 8

The Bloomingdale Area Women in Business will award one $1,000 scholarship to a woman who is looking to improve herself professionally by such means as continued education or professional development with the goal of furthering her knowledge and expertise. Applicants must be:

  • Affiliated commercially within the surrounding Bloomingdale area.
  • Female over 20 years of age.  This is not a scholarship intended for a graduating high school student or a current college student.  Please see the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program for more information on graduating high school or current college students.
  • The applicant should be someone continuing her education, going back to school after a period being out of school, wanting to receive a certification, needing continuing educational credits for her job, and/or wanting to move upward in her career and requires further education.
Scholarships must be used within the first year of being awarded. The scholarship will be awarded at the BAWIB lunch (date to be determined).


A committee from the general membership of BAWIB will evaluate applications based on the established criteria.  Recommendations from this committee will be tabulated to determine the winners. 

 

This scholarship is based on:

  • Personal Investment in education and career progression
  • Community Involvement, including volunteer or employment positions
  • Industry Involvement, including networking and committee positions
  • Potential Interview to discuss professional development plans
