Darren Bailey, who is on the ballot for Governor of Illinois, visited The Drake Oak Brook hotel.
He thanked the organizers for a delightful event. Bailey hopes to work with the leaders and the community in the very near future.
"Thank you to Jim and Tely Nagle, owners of The Drake Hotel in Oak Brook, for hosting Cindy and I, at a wonderful impromptu breakfast alongside community leaders," Bailey said. "Your business is absolutely wonderful, and we look forward to working with you in making Illinois a better place for businesses to operate! It is time to end the failed policies of the Pritzker Administration and bring more jobs and opportunities back to Illinois."
The Drake Oak Brook Hotel is an upscale hotel. it is a great choice “For guests seeking a glamorous escape from the everyday." The website stated that "The Drake Oak Brook, Autograph Collection is a world apart. A lovingly renovated historic icon on ten tranquil acres of land just a short drive from Chicago, offering a richly blend of grand hotel experiences and amenities, distinctive social events, and a legendary style of service that makes everyone feels like a privileged insider.”
Bailey has accused incumbent Gov. J.B. Pritzker of playing politics rather than focusing on issues that affect the business climate. In a statement, Bailey said that “The 2.5 percent GDP decline in the first quarter in Illinois is higher than the average 1.6 percent decline nationally. While states like Texas and Florida have been lowering taxes and creating a better business climate, the only thing JB Pritzker is offering is a commitment to be the wokest state in the country. The truth is companies want to locate where taxes are low and where there is a level playing field for all businesses not just the politically connected ones.”
In contrast, at an event earlier in the campaign season, Pritzker had a small business owner ejected from a campaign rally held at a public library. The man, James Dinaso, a local gym owner, was outraged that Pritzker, the billionaire heir to the Hyatt Hotel chain, kept gyms open in hotels but closed those for small businessmen like himself. “Pritzker allowed for his hotel fitness rooms to be opened during that same period of time,” Dinaso told East Central Reporter. “And I just found that absolutely outrageous because if you’ve been to a hotel fitness room it is one of the dirtiest places in the hotel and it's all self-cleaning – I mean, you're supposed to wipe them down and whatnot. When we have cleaning protocols and all the different things in our place, everything is sanitized.”
