Pekau for Congress has issued the following press release:
November 1, 2022 - The Cook Political Report has moved IL-06 from “Likely Dem” to “Leans Dem” one week out from Election Day, signaling that Sean Casten is in deep trouble.
The change signals that consistent messaging from the GOP campaign on Pekau’s record of success as Mayor of Orland Park, crime, inflation and the economy is resonating with voters.
Casten’s campaign has relied on special interest donations and endorsements from DC elites like Nancy Pelosi; as well as Casten personally trolling Republicans on Twitter over their opposition to anti-police bills like the SAFE-T Act and concerns about rising inflation rates. Meanwhile, he failed to address voters' real concerns about his far-left social views and his record of pushing for federal subsidies from which he personally profits.
Pekau campaign comment: “Sean Casten is trying to campaign like it’s 2020. It’s not. He wasn't ready for this opposition. It's a new district, and his record on public safety and the economy are abysmal. Voters are looking for a leader with a proven track record of having the courage to stand up for them and solve the issues they care about. That candidate is Keith Pekau.”
