Pekau for Congress has issued the following press release:

August 22, 2022 - The Washington Free Beacon reported over the weekend that Sean Casten’s latest financial disclosure shows he holds up to $500,000 in a green energy company that will likely benefit from Green Energy spending.

This is a disturbing pattern with Sean Casten.  In 2008, he secured $8 million  in taxpayer-funded subsidies for his family’s company from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act  As a Congressman, he has pushed for similar special deals to benefit his own company, and special interests.

Rather than reforming the system, Sean Casten works the system.  Keith Pekau, Mayor of Orland Park and a candidate for Congress (IL-06), issued the following statement.

“Casten’s cheerleading of the latest bill is insulting. Sean Casten is a lobbyist-turned-congressman who has taken millions of dollars in federal subsidies for years - subsidies for which the hard-working taxpayers in DuPage and Cook County have to foot the bill. Casten ran for Congress to ensure that he could continue to secure those subsidies.  Something that he has just done once again. Sean Casten has done little to make life better for anyone in the Sixth District but continues to enrich himself.

“As Mayor of Orland Park, I’ve worked to make government live within its means so we could reduce the burden the village was passing on to the people we serve. I am going to Congress to push back on self-dealing politicians and improve life for the people I hope to serve."
