DuPage County Public Transit Committee met May 3.

1. CALL TO ORDER
10:15 AM meeting was called to order by Vice-Chair Sam Tornatore at 10:18 AM. Pursuant to County Board Rules, Vice-Chair Tornatore designated County Board member Renehan to serve as a temporary member of the Transit Committee for a physical quorum to be present at the meeting, in compliance with 7(a) of the Illinois Open Meeting Act.
MOTION TO ALLOW CHAIR OZOG TO PARTICIPATE VIRTUALLY Vice-Chair Tornatore noted that there was a physical quorum present in the room. Member DiCianni moved and Member Schwarze seconded a motion to allow Chair Ozog to participate remotely under the 7(a) of the Illinois Open Meeting Act at the Transit Committee meeting.

A. Willowbrook Corners Service Plan
Staff updated the committee on the progress of the Willowbrook Corners Service Plan. Recommendations will be provided to the Committee at the June meeting
B. Mobility Plan
The Mobility Plan Guide is currently under development and will be widely distributed for use by the employers, employees, and the general public.
C. RTA Strategic Plan
DOT Staff is participating in the RTA's 2023 Strategic Plan and is helping the RTA through the Infrastructure Investment Working Group
D. Project Sidewalk
DuPage County is working with regional and national universities on a mobility project to assess sidewalk and path quality.
7. PARTNER REPORTS
A. Pace
Ms. Christine Rose reported that Pace will be holding public hearings on May 26 regarding proposed fare changes in 2022. The link to the public hearings can be found here: <https://www.pacebus.com/dupagecounty2022hearing>.
Member DiCianni requested an update on the DuPage Access Program ridership. Ms. Rose responded that she would inquire and share with DuPage staff.
Mrs. Renehan inquired about Pace’s policy on farebox recovery. Ms. Rose informed the committee that the policy had been suspended for three years due to Covid. Chair Ozog requested that Pace let the committee know how the suspension of the policy was affecting revenue.
B. Metra
Mr. Skoufis discussed ridership trends, indicating that ridership is now presently 37% of pre pandemic daily totals. He went on to discuss the UP West line’s 3rd rail project and its proposed completion in 2022.
Metra is installing ticket vending machines at all stations in DuPage County. 59 machines will be installed under two separate contracts.
