Brittich Receives NADIIIAA Honor

Elmhurst University Director of Athletics Glen Brittich has been honored as a recipient of a National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) Administrator Award.

Brittich was one two recipients of NADIIIAA's Transitioning Athletic Administrator Award. The award is presented to a professional(s) who transitioned from coaching or other professional duties to athletics administration with seven or fewer years of cumulative experience as a titled athletics administrator at the Division III level.

"Elmhurst University is incredibly proud of Glen in wining this award," said Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Phil Riordan. "Glen has made the transition from football coach to athletic administration seamlessly. He is committed to the growth and development of all our student athletes, and he is positioning our athletic department to be a premier athletic program at the Division III level. Glen has a very bright future in athletic administration."

Brittich was Elmhurst's Director of Athletics in December after spending the previous six months as the Interim director. Over the past year, the Bluejays have seen increased levels of success both in the classroom and athletically. The Bluejays have seen an increase in the department's overall GPA this year while teams and individuals have rolled up individual athletic honors. The women's cross country team won a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship in the fall and the men's basketball team finished as the NCAA Division III National Runner-up. Individually, Bluejays have garnered All-America honors in basketball, women's indoor track and field and wrestling.

 

"I am very proud of everything we have done to support our student-athletes and our campus this year," said Brittich. "We have a great team here on campus and our entire department has worked tirelessly to support our student-athletes and enable them to be successful and have a fantastic year."

 

Brittich had previously served as Elmhurst's Assistant Director of Athletics for two years (2019-21). spent two years as Elmhurst's assistant AD (2019-21). As Elmhurst's Assistant Director of Athletics, Brittich tackled multiple roles for the Bluejays. He was responsible for the internal operations of the athletic department and managed the Bluejays' gameday operations. In addition to serving as the department's compliance officer, he also had direct supervision of multiple Elmhurst teams. In 2020, Brittich was selected as one of 20 participants to the NCAA's Pathway Program, the NCAA's premier leadership develop program for athletic administrators.  

 

Prior to moving into administration, Brittich spent the previous 14 years as a football coach - seven seasons at Elmhurst with previous coaching stops at Hope College, Carthage College, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University and Adams State College.

 

Brittich and all NADIIIAA award winners will be recognized during the Association Business Meeting at the NADIIIAA Summer Forum, held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on Monday, June 27.
