4x100 Wins National Championship

Capping a successful end to the season at the NCAA Division III Championships, the Benedictine University men's 4x100 relay of Marvin Agwomoh, Matt Fleming, Koren Leonard and DJ Anderson won the national championship. The team won the event by just .001.

Later in the day Leonard took eighth in the 110m hurdles to earn All-American status. Anderson ran to fifth in the 400.

Benedictine totaled 20 points as a team and finished 11th at the event in Ohio.

FRIDAY RECAP

Eve Meintz finished her first visit to the national championships by totaling 4,275 points to finish 17th in the heptahlon.

Kash Allen took 20th in the shot put with a mark of 12.28m.

Koren Leonard qualified for the finals in the 110m hurdles and Anderson posted the third best time in the 400m to reach finals on Saturday.

THURSDAY RECAP

The men's 4x100 relay posted the top qualifying time for finals by running a 40.26, .02 better than UW-Oshkosh. The finals of the 4x100 will take place on Saturday at 11:15am.

Matt Fleming completed the long jump, becoming the first All-American of the meet for Benedictine by leaping to fourth. Fleming jumped 7.32m and just faulted on a jump that would have finished second. The five points scored have put Benedictine in 12th place after the first day.

DJ Anderson ran to 14th in the 200m dash, crossing the finish in 21.33. Anderson will run again in the 400 on Friday.

On the women's side, Ayah Mustafa ran a PR in the 400m hurdles, finishing 12th with a time of 1:02.89.

Eve Meintz completed the first half of the heptathlon taking 14th in the 100m hurdles, 16th in the 200m, ninth in the high jump and 20th in the shot put. Meintz is in 15th overall with three events remaining.
