Louisville, IL – State Senator and candidate for Governor, Darren Bailey, is issuing the following statement on DuPage County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek's latest blunder which is costing the County approximately $4 million because she failed to file the proper paperwork to collect marijuana taxes.
“I voted against legalizing recreational marijuana, but if we are going to make the sale of this drug legal in Illinois, we should be collecting ALL of the tax revenue we can. For 18 months, DuPage County residents have missed out on the revenue of legal marijuana sales in the County because of Jean Kaczmarek's complete incompetence.
She can’t run elections. She can’t file paperwork properly. She is a total disaster. DuPage County residents are seeing in real time what the phrase ‘Go Woke Go Broke’ really means. And, of course, in true woke politician fashion, she is blaming everyone but herself for her incompetence. She has no business leading an office of the magnitude of the DuPage County Clerk’s office. She is an embarrassment and disgrace who is costing DuPage County residents millions. I would ask her to resign but I have zero confidence she could even get her letter of resignation handed in properly.”
