SENIORS - Testing Calendar
On April 13 & 14, state tests will be administered to all freshmen, sophomores and juniors. We want to draw your attention to some modifications to the school calendar due to testing.
Seniors will not be in attendance on Wednesday, April 13. However, seniors who did not take the SAT as juniors must attend since the SAT is an Illinois graduation requirement. If this applies to you, testing information can be found here. All senior DLP students and all Transition students will not attend.
Also, there is a Late Start Day for seniors, sophomores and freshmen on Thursday, April 14 to allow juniors time to take the Illinois Science Assessment. Buses will run on the late start schedule that can be found at www.d94.org/bus.
JUNIORS - Testing Calendar
On April 13 & 14, state tests will be administered to all juniors. The SAT will be administered to juniors on April 13, and the Illinois Science Assessment on April 14. We want to draw your attention to some modifications to the school calendar due to testing.
All juniors will be taking the SAT on April 13 in the Fieldhouse. You were mailed a letter with all the details and requirements. The information is on our website should you need to refer to it. Juniors start the day as usual, and will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m. Buses will run for eligible students. Juniors who choose to drive may park at Kerr-McGee. Freshmen and Sophomores will be testing as well this day; seniors will not be in attendance.
On April 14, juniors will be taking the Illinois Science Assessment. Juniors should arrive for a normal school day as testing will begin at 8 a.m. Buses will run for eligible students. Freshmen, sophomores and seniors will have a Late Start Day; school will start at 10 a.m.
SOPHOMORES-FRESHMEN Testing Calendar

All freshmen and sophomores will take the PSAT 9 or PSAT 10 in an assigned classroom on April 13. Classroom assignments will be posted by Entrance B and Commons by Friday, April 8. Freshmen and sophomores will start the day as usual, and will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. Buses will run for eligible students. Juniors will be testing as well this day; seniors will not be in attendance.

Rocking for Ukraine Benefit Concert NEW DATE: April 8
Online donations being accepted!
WeGo Global, a student club at West Chicago Community High School, has rescheduled "Rocking for Ukraine", a benefit concert, for Ukraine for Friday, April 8, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in Commons at the school, 326 Joliet St., Entrance H (south side), West Chicago. Admission is a minimum $5 donation at the door.
An evening of performances featuring Vagabond, a band fronted by current WeGo senior Andrew Georgiev, joined by Gavin Woolman, Nina Bartuca and Dylan Dankel. Karl Knutson Boutique Entertainment will be providing light and sound support as well as serving as DJ. Personal stories will be shared by students who have family ties to Ukraine.

Senior Parents: "Tech grad CB purchase $10" Charge
District 94 offers your senior student the option of keeping their Chromebook when they leave WCCHS. The cost to keep the Chromebook is $10 and has been charged to your account in PowerSchool as "Tech grad CB purchase $10".
If your senior student does NOT want to keep the Chromebook, the Tech Department will be near Entrance B the last two days of senior attendance (May 10 & 11) to accept Chromebook returns. The $10 will be credited to your account once the Chromebook has been returned.

Yard Waste Collection Begins April 4
Yard Waste Collection for City of West Chicago residents begins April 4. During this time, yard waste materials are collected on primary collection days. All yard waste must be placed in a 95-gallon yard waste carts or a “Kraft” biodegradable paper bags. Each bag of yard waste material must have (1) universal refuse/yard waste sticker.
Free Spring Leaf Collection is April 4 - 8
The Spring Leaf Collection for City of West Chicago residents is Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8. During this event, leaves are collected at no charge, with no universal refuse/yard waste sticker required. Leaves must be placed in paper yard waste bags.

Dr. Eboo Patel is a Glenbard South graduate and the founder and president of Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC). Hie first book Acts of Faith is a coming-of-age story about a Muslim immigrant’s search for identity and the development of an interfaith youth movement focused on building bridges across forms of difference that too-often divide. Now from this faith adviser to Presidents, comes his most recent book We Need to Build: Field notes for Diverse Democracy Patel tells the stories of what he’s learned and how, in the process, he came to construct as much as critique and collaborate more than oppose. Following his remarks, UCLA Professor Dr. Tyrone Howard author of All Children Must Thrive will join Dr. Patel in conversation.

Pediatrician, New York Times best–selling author of and mother of two teenagers, Dr. Cara Natterson, is here to help with scripts, tips, and strategies for getting it right – all built on a foundation of practical hard science. Participants will learn how to talk to teens about the wide range of “normal” through the entire developmental process. Dr. Natterson will also talk about why teenagers make irrational decisions even though they look mature, and how to steer them toward better choices.

Stephen Hill
How does one of four brothers, raised in the same home by loving and supportive parents, end up addicted to drugs for over a decade while the other siblings followed a positive path to a healthy lifestyle without any substance use disorder issues? Speaker Stephen Hill places a great deal of emphasis on “prevention through protection,” and pinpoints potential threats and warning signs for parents to watch out for. In May 2018, he published his memoir A Journey to Recovery which became a #1 New Release in Drug Dependency on Amazon. Addiction psychologist Aaron Weiner and clinical psychologist Dr. Doug Bolton will continue this important conversation following Hill’s remarks.
