ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER: 
Applications Accepted April 1-29

Application packages for Entry Level Police Officer will be available online, April 1- April 29, at the Village of Bloomingdale website- Employment Opportunities page or at the Bloomingdale Police Department. A $40 non-refundable fee will be charged per application package. Completed applications must be completed or returned by 4:30 PM on Friday, April 29, 2022. 
Orientation & Testing on Saturday, May 7, 2022 (mandatory).

BLOOMINGDALE HOUSE FIRE COLLECTION
Recently, one of our Bloomingdale families tragically lost their house to a fire; fortunately, everyone got out safely along with pets, however, the home was destroyed, along with everything inside.  DuJardin Elementary School is collecting items to help support the family while they recover from the loss of their home and all personal items.
The Bloomingdale Fire Department is a designated donation point to help DuJardin collect the items in need. They will be collecting until Friday, April 1st at the main station, Station 21 located at 179 S. Bloomingdale Road. If you have any questions regarding this collection, please contact Robert Spejcher at (630)894-9080.
The DuJardin PTO is also hosting a fundraising event for the family on Monday, April 4th from 5-8 PM at Portillo’s (134 E Lake St.) View the event flyer for more information.
2022 YARD WASTE COLLECTION BEGINS
2022 Yard Waste Collection Begins on the 1st collection day in April and ends on the last collection week in November
Yard and Organic Waste Stickers are available for purchase at a cost of $2.80 per sticker (2022 cost) at the following locations:
• Butera Foods - 550 West Lake Street
• Caputo's Fresh Market - 166 East Lake Street
• Jewel Food Store-2164 S Bloomingdale Rd, Glendale Heights
• Lens Ace Hardware-272 West Lake Street
• Meijer Supermarket-130 South Gary Avenue
• Village of Bloomingdale-201 South Bloomingdale Road
Yard & Organic Waste Carts are from SBC at a flat rate cost per collection season of:
• 35 Gallon Yard Waste Cart: $199
• 65 Gallon Yard Waste Cart: $279
• 95 Gallon Yard Waste Cart: $299
Additionally, the village picks up brush and branches 3 times per year at no charge; the Spring Branch Collection is on Monday, April 18, 2022.
ELECTRONIC RECYCLING THIS SATURDAY
An Electronic Recycling Program will be available to all DuPage County residents at no cost on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 12 PM at the Bloomingdale Township Highway Department, 6N030 Rosedale Ave.

HELP RELEASE THE FISH 
The Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-Roselle is again sponsoring two Fish Release events. Help restock ponds at Lakeview Park in Bloomingdale (240 Broker Road) and Turner Park in Roselle (81 E. Devon Avenue), at the annual Fish Release set for April 23, 2022 at 12:30 PM. The simultaneous events are expected to last approximately 30 minutes. 
Participants are provided with buckets to dispense fish into the ponds. Dress appropriately as splashing and muddy conditions are likely. All ages are welcome. This is a FREE event, but participants are asked to bring canned goods that are donated to the Bloomingdale Food Pantry.
BLOOMINGDALE BARRACUDAS 
The Bloomingdale Barracudas are a competitive summer swim and dive team with swimmers and divers ranging in age from 5 through 18. 
Register on April 27 @ 6-9 PM or April 30 @ 9 AM-noon at the Johnston Recreation Center, 172 S Circle Ave, Bloomingdale.

Resources & Happenings
The Bloomingdale Park District will partner with the Lions Club and the Library for it's annual Egg Hunt and Bunny Bash, to be held on Sat., April 9.
The Bunny Bash will be immediately following the Lions Club Egg Hunt which begins promptly at 9:30 AM. 
This is a free special event and all activities will be held outdoors. 
DEADLINE TO APPLY: APRIL 11
The Septemberfest Fund provides scholarships to Bloomingdale residents age 17 to 20.
Applications must be postmarked no later than April 11, 2022.

Application deadline has been extended to April 29, 2022!
The Bloomingdale Area Women in Business (BAWIB) will award one $1,000 scholarship to a woman who is looking to improve herself professionally .

FISH FRY FUNDRAISER TOMORROW!
The St. Isidore Knights of Columbus, Fr John Guiney Council 8522, will hold its annual Fish Fry at the Ministry Center of St. Isidore, 427 W Army Trail Road on Friday, April 1st @ 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
