Analysis: Queen Bee administrators rank 217th in state for average pay

Administrators in Queen Bee School District 16 earn an average of $115,765 per year, ranking 217th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 3.3 percent higher than in 2016 and 2.2 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 4 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Queen Bee School District in Dupage County enrolled 1753 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 139 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
