Istock 453195463 768x512

At a Village Board meeting held March 21, 2022, the Lisle Village Board approved an ordinance that establishes a permitting process for the keeping of backyard chickens. Under the provisions, a permitted property owner may keep up to a maximum of four hens in an enclosure that meets certain specifications regarding distance from property lines, feed storage, sanitation, and other requirements. Roosters are specifically prohibited.  Provisions of the new program go into effect starting April 1, 2022. Apply for a permit online.
