37

Grenier, an Elmhurst alumna who has worked at the University since 2002, currently is the senior director of first-year and international admission. She begins her new role in September.

“I have called Elmhurst University home for almost 20 years, and it’s been rewarding to watch it evolve into the institution it is today,” she said. “I’m really excited to keep establishing innovative recruitment practices here, and providing generous opportunities to students who want a high-quality educational experience.”

Elmhurst University President Troy D. VanAken said, “I’ve been very impressed with how Christine has excelled and grown throughout her career at Elmhurst, and with her unwavering commitment to our mission. Her perspective and experience will be a great addition to our senior leadership team.”

As senior director of first-year and international admission, Grenier led the Office of Admission to successfully meet year-over-year net tuition revenue goals while increasing the academic profile of the class. She also coordinated the shift to test-optional admission criteria during the COVID-19 pandemic, negotiated the acquisition of the Common Application, and significantly expanded the recruitment of international students.

“I love the world of University admission because I believe in demystifying the enrollment process for students and families, and making Elmhurst accessible to deserving students,” she said. “My goal will be to provide the best service to our students, and to remain nimble and responsive to market demands so that Elmhurst University continues to stand out in today’s higher education environment.”

Grenier has a master’s degree in international relations from Webster University, a bachelor’s degree in English from Elmhurst University, and a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Columbia College Chicago. She also served as a senior airman in the Connecticut Air National Guard.
