Reid for DuPage County Board has issued the following press release:
Lifelong DuPage County resident Reid Foltyniewicz stepped up to run for the DuPage County Board by submitting over 600 petition signatures on the first day of filing to be on the ballot. The 16-year veteran of the Oak Brook Police Department who served as a Lombard Village Trustee for 8 years gathered more than triple the number of signatures needed, emphasizing Reid’s lifelong commitment to being active in the community.
“I hate it when politicians say, ‘my door is always open.’ That puts all the responsibility on the public to reach out, and that’s not how I operate—I go to the community. It’s the part I love the most about community service,” Reid said. “I enjoyed getting my petition signatures because it was another opportunity to get to know families throughout our community.”

Reid, his campaign, and dozens of volunteers gathered all his petition signatures and shared the message that Reid’s law enforcement and public service experience makes him uniquely qualified to address our county’s biggest challenge: the crime coming out of Chicago and Cook County.
“It’s time to focus on what really matters,” Reid said. “ The first question I consistently hear from voters is ‘what will I do to curb the increase of violence in our neighborhoods,’ I shake my head. I’m done with violent crime invading DuPage County. I’m raising my family in the 4th District, and I want to keep our communities and families safe.”
Beyond hearing safety concerns, he talked to petition signers about his plans to help make DuPage County a destination, so people move here and stay here by working to lower taxes and bring jobs to DuPage County.
“We were able to mobilize volunteers and get so many signatures because people agree with our message,” said Reid. “I want to do what is best for the families of DuPage County and I’m grateful that many of the people I’m running to serve helped me get on the ballot.”
