NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission will host a meeting to present two concept proposals to develop affordable housing for seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities on City land. The meeting, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 7, will be held in Council Chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center. The meeting will also be broadcast live: Watch on WCNC (Ch. 6 – WOW, Ch. 10 – Comcast, Ch. 99 – AT&T) or online at naperville.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.
City-owned property near the intersection of 103rd Street and Route 59 is being used to expand quality, affordable housing in Naperville for seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. Four firms responded to a request for proposals issued by the City in September 2021 to develop this housing, which was directed by the City Council in accordance with recommendations to use public lands to address affordable housing needs.
After a careful review, the procurement selection team chose two firms based on experience and qualifications, Gorman & Company LLC and Mercy Housing Lakefront, to advance to this next stage of the process. The two firms will present their initial concept proposals and answer questions at the March 7 meeting. More details are available on the project website, naperville.il.us/senior-housing
