Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Messages From
Superintendent Hill:
As you may have heard, last night the Fourth District Illinois Appellate Court dismissed the appeal from the Sangamon County Circuit Court order that rendered the Governor’s Executive Orders, including that masks be worn in Illinois schools, unenforceable.
For this reason, CCSD93 will continue to recommend but not require masks for those within our buildings and will continue to follow the mitigation strategies outlined at www.ccsd93.com/mitigations.
Report Cards to be Posted Online 2/25
Today was the final day of the second trimester, and it is difficult to believe that we’ve completed two-thirds of the 2021-22 school year. Next Friday, February 25, student report cards will once again be posted online to TeacherEase and will not be sent home. Parents will receive a notification on Friday once the report cards have been posted.
Staff Satisfaction Survey Results
Each December we survey students, parents, and staff regarding satisfaction with the District and the school year. I’ve previously shared this year’s results for our parents, middle school students, and elementary students in this space. Today I share Staff Satisfaction Survey results. With a confidence level of 99% and a margin of error of 2%, the data should very accurately reflect the feelings of our staff members. Here’s a look at the overall staff data.
When comparing these with the results from last year, we observe that one-third of the categories have remained consistently high, while two-thirds have experienced notable dips. Nearly all scores remain firmly within the mid to high end of “good” on the scoring scale, as defined for respondents at the onset of the survey. Digging deeper, statistically significant opportunities for improvement from last year to this included fewer staff members agreeing that they have time for helping individual students (-27.87%) and that students at their school demonstrate behaviors that allow staff members to teach and students to learn (-19.43%). While these results seem to reflect the realities of returning to fully in-person learning versus last year’s remote learning, they are among those that need addressing.
Among noteworthy gains is a rise in the percentage of staff who indicated that they always or sometimes meet with students to set academic and/or behavioral improvement goals (+3.24%). This is consistent with CCSD93’s concerted efforts for staff to engage students and parents more deeply in conversations around achievement of Illinois Learning Standards and other goals.
As with all of our Satisfaction Survey data, principals and school Building Leadership Teams (BLTs) are utilizing this data to develop action plans and yearly School Improvement Plans, and our administrators are using the data to inform decisions. I thank each parent, student, and staff member for taking the time to give us feedback. It will be used to help us improve. You can find this and all Satisfaction Survey data at www.ccsd93.com/satisfaction and posted to school websites.
Please review the following articles for more from CCSD93. As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, February 21 for Presidents' Day. Enjoy your weekend.
Sincerely,
Dr. David H. Hill
