“The Bloomingdale Park District is proud to receive the Exceptional Workplace Award and even prouder to offer such an environment to our employees,” said Joe Potts, executive director of the Bloomingdale Park District.
“We are committed to offering an excellent health and wellness program; supporting continuing education and certification; encouraging involvement in the community inside and outside of work hours; continuing to support a foundation to help those in need; and providing regular training in safety, ergonomics and HR-related issues. We are very fortunate to serve a board of elected officials who encourage our team to foster a safe and enriching workplace that supports constant improvement of ourselves, our community, our facilities and programs.”
The Exceptional Workplace designation spans five years. Park and recreation agencies may re-apply five years after receiving the IPRA Exceptional Workplace award for subsequent consideration.
IPRA’s mission is to provide and promote exceptional standards of education, networking, and resources for all professionals in the Illinois park, recreation, and conservation communities. IPRA leads the nation in providing premier education, networking, and resources for professionals in parks, recreation, and conservation.
