Nature Explorers – Winter Wonders

January 5-26 | Ages 3-6 | Wednesday | 10-11A | Northside Park Girl Scout Cabin

Winter may seem barren and lifeless, but looks can be deceiving. Explore the wonders of winter while we hunt for signs of life. Mobile Registration | Desktop Registration

Jr Naturalists Club – Winter Quest

January 6-27 | Ages 5-9 | Thursday | 4-5P | Northside Park Girl Scout Cabin

Join the quest to uncover how animals survive during winter and discover what makes ice and snow so special. Participate in activities, experiments and games that are winter specific. Mobile Registration | Desktop Registration

Victorian Valentine Craft Kit

Pick up January 11 through February 13 | DuPage County Historical Museum Front Desk | $15 per kit

Create 15 beautiful greeting cards using this kit. From Victorian and vintage ideas to modern creations, use provided instruction-idea sheet and your own creativity to celebrate your valentine. Curbside pickup available. Call 630.510.4941 for more information. Register

Snowflake Scavenger Hunt

Bundle up for some frosty fun! Explore the winter wonderland at Lincoln Marsh in search of snowflakes and discover winter fun facts along the way! Programs that start at 5P or later will use flashlights. Mobile Registration | Desktop Registration

Social & Emotional Playtime

January 14-February 11 or February 18-March 18 | Ages 3-5 | Friday

Wings SC Tryouts

Girls Age 5-7 | January 11 | Tuesday | 5:30-6:30P | Central Athletic Complex

 Boys Age 5-7 | January 11 | Tuesday | 6:30-7:30P | Central Athletic Complex

This tryout is open to all players interested in joining Wings SC.  Players selected from this tryout will either be placed on existing Wings SC travel teams or on a new team based on our evaluation process. Cosley Zoo Virtual Volunteer Open House

January 16 | Sunday | 1:30-2:30P

Want to learn more about volunteering at Cosley Zoo? Join Cosley Zoo staff and other zoo volunteers to learn about our animal care and interpretive volunteer opportunities! We’ll talk about the tasks that volunteers perform, learn more about the application and training process, and answer your questions. It could be your first step toward becoming part of the Cosley Zoo team and making a big difference for animals and nature! The volunteer opportunities we’ll be discussing are for adults age 18+. Bookworms

Tanks Support at D-Day – Omaha Beach

January 20 | Ages 13 & Up | Thursday | 7P | DuPage County Historical Museum Auditorium | FREE EVENT

Join Retired U.S. Army Armor Officer Steven Fixler for a deeper look at the amphibious tank landings at Omaha Beach during D-Day. The 741st and 743rd Tank Battalions served as support for the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions. Register

Winter Nature Hike

Family Enrichment Workshop

January 23 | Sunday | 2-3P | Cosley Zoo

Cosley Zoo’s animals receive enrichment every day. Enrichment lets our animals make choices and exhibit natural behaviors such as climbing, hunting for food, and using their senses. In this workshop, your family will make enrichment activities for some of the zoo’s animals, and then we’ll head out into the zoo to see enrichment in action! After the program, you’re welcome to stay and tour the zoo on your own for an hour at no additional charge. Registration closes 1/19 or when filled. Register

Blanding's Turtle Head Start Program

January 30 | Sunday | 2-2:30P | Cosley Zoo

Have you ever wondered where we keep all those Blanding’s turtles that we raise to release into the wild? Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of our Conservation Room, where the endangered turtle hatchlings are being raised for release. This program will include time for audience questions. Registration closes 1/27 or when filled. Register

Spring Baseball/Softball Registration Now Open

The season begins around April 4 for most leagues. Early Bird Fees end on January 3.
