An official with the Oak Brook Police Department said charges are looming for the suspects in Thursday night's shooting in the crowded Oakbrook Center.

Sources told DuPage Policy Journal both shooters — one in custody and the other who has been identified and is still at large — are from Chicago.

“We haven't gotten charges from DuPage County, yet. We are working with the State's Attorney Office on building a stronger case," Oak Brook Police Department Administrative Sgt. Reid Foltyniewicz told DuPage Policy Journal. "We continue to seek additional witnesses. I will send you updates when I receive them.”

Pictures of the at-large suspect show him wearing a $1,700 royal blue Moncler jacket with a Moncler logo on the back.

Moncler is an Italian luxury brand based in Milan. Its winter jackets are among the most expensive in the world.

Witnesses said two men pulled weapons on each other and began firing near the Ann Taylor store.

Four were shot in the incident including one suspect from Chicago who was shot four times. Other victims included two women in their 40s and one in her 20s.

Police said the victims' injuries aren't life-threatening. A woman reportedly broke her ankle fleeing from the scene.

The identities of the suspects are being withheld for now.

The mall was crowded with holiday shoppers at the time of the incident, causing panic.

A lockdown was instituted, and a mass-shooter alert was triggered. Shoppers huddled in a Nordstrom for safety.

An Oak Brook Police officer working a security detail was the first to respond to the shooting. He was joined by police and emergency service units from a 30-community force.

Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso was in the Apple Store at the time of the shooting.

"Management went right out and locked the doors, there was no panic at all," Grasso told Fox Chicago 32. "We were escorted slowly and properly down to a secure spot in the basement.”

Violent crimes have wracked the region throughout 2021 with nearby Cook County registering more than 1,000 homicides for the first time since 1994.
