DuPage County Board member Greg Hart is one of many questioning the tweets of Mary Lemanski.

In a string of now-deleted tweets Lemanski, formerly the social media director for the DuPage Democratic Party, satirized the deaths of five and injuries to 40 from the Nov. 21 incident in which Darrell Brooks, a multiple convicted felon, apparently drove an SUV through the crowd on purpose, according to multiple news reports.

“My heart breaks for the people of Waukesha. Today is day for mourning, not for politics,” Hart said in a statement on social media.

Lemanski ran as a Democrat for Downers Grove Township Clerk this year, gaining just over 45% of the vote in a loss to Lorraine Grimsby.

Her Twitter account notes she is “Former social media director, Democratic Party of DuPage County, IL/Actress at Second City."

After the Waukesha terrorism incident Lemanski took to Twitter.

“Living in Wisconsin, he probably felt threatened,” Lemanski said in one tweet regarding the attack in a nod to the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse.

In another she used Rittenhouse’s defense for being at last year’s riots.

“I’m sure he didn’t want to hurt anyone. He came to help people,” Lemanski said.

Lemanski doubled-down and posted a response after critics began to bombard her.

“Nobody cared about me like my whole life. My mom used to leave me for hours at a time alone in my play pen. I’ve put out music for 20 years nobody gave a (expletive). Why do people all of a sudden care about my stupid remark? I can’t believe my 15 minutes of fame is for this (expletive)” she tweeted.

Hart addressed Lemanski directly in his statement.

“However, on a day when parents and children were murdered and severely injured, I am utterly disgusted that a leader of the DuPage Democratic Party - Mary Lemanski - would have so little compassion and decency to make light of the tragedy and to say ‘Wisconsin citizens, even the children’ in some way deserved what happen to them. Shame on her,” Hart said.

Hart also questioned the values she was espousing.

“What kind of values are we demonstrating for our children? Sickening,” Hart said.
