4. CHAIRWOMAN'S REMARKS - CHAIR CHAPLIN

Chair Chaplin informed the committee that the first allocation of American Rescue Plan funds has been received. In the next few weeks, staff presentations will begin with an overview of guidance and expenditures to consider.

On today's agenda, presentations by CorVel with a workman's compensation update, Mesirow and ICMA with a deferred compensation plan update and budget instructions and policies to be voted on.

Intern salary determination was questioned. Chief Administrative Officer, Nick Kottmeyer responded that departments under County Board jurisdiction meet with HR to determine the pay scale for the interns. Each year an intern returns to the County, they are give a pay increase over the prior year. Different levels of interns are paid differently. Seasonal employees are paid on a different scale.
