4. CHAIRWOMAN'S REMARKS - CHAIR RENEHAN
Chair Renehan indicated that the Safety, Accountability, Fairness, and Equity Today (SAFE-T) Act requirements continue to be analyzed by the county. She reminded the committee that headcount revisions would be addressed during the FY2022 budget discussions this summer. The Chief Financial Officer will prepare a memo for the committee regarding the county's funding levels, sources for limitation, and 21 million dollar surplus from fiscal year 2020. She expressed concern regarding the circulation of false information related to the county's support of law enforcement and public safety. Budget documents, which are available on the county's website www.dupageco.org, were reviewed to demonstrate the county's profound support of law enforcement and public safety.

Several members provided commentary regarding the Chair's opening remarks, legislation and public safety expenses. Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey Martynowicz briefed the committee on public safety expenses, reserves, and availability of 21 million dollars for fiscal year 2020. A memo summarizing the CARES Act expenditures in 2020 will be prepared and distributed to the Board at the next meeting.
