Breakthrough Ideas issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
A prayer service remembering those who died defending freedom in Afghanistan - especially the 13 Marines who died during a hurried evacuation will be held tomorrow, September 1 at 3:00 p.m. Those in attendance will also pray for the safety of the Afghan people and for wisdom for our political leaders.
The service will be held at the SSG. Robby J. Miller Memorial Plaza at St. Michael Church in Wheaton.
The event was planned by Breakthrough Ideas and St. Michael Church.
The service will be led by Fr. Dan Cohen, Pastor of St. Michael. Wheaton Mayor Phil Suess and Jeanne Ives, a West Point Graduate, Army Veteran, and Military Mom are also scheduled to speak.
All are welcome.

About SSG. Robby J. Miller
SSG. Robby Miller graduated from St. Michael School in Wheaton and Wheaton North High School.
He was 24 years old when he saved the lives of nearly two-dozen coalition force members pinned down during an intense 2008 firefight in Afghanistan. He sacrificed his own life for theirs. For his bravery and valor, Miller was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously by President Obama on October 6, 2010.
