The business of political correctness is a sweet deal for Reesheda Graham Washington.
Washington runs RGW Consulting, a firm that specializes in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) training.
RGW ran a series with Glen Ellyn officials in January 2021 regarding dialogues on DEI.
“Facilitated by Reesheda Graham Washington, principal consultant of RGW Consulting, LLC, this series of seven sessions will invite 8-10 participants per group to consider questions around the current state of DEI in our village, the systems and processes that are already in place to support our DEI work, the challenges or roadblocks we face as a village around DEI and what next steps we should be taking to foster DEI progress,” a posting for one of the multi-series events reads.
In a DEI report following her meetings with Glen Ellyn officials, Washington said her team spent 25 hours speaking with local leaders and residents and the findings were severe.
In a damning report, RGW said the village has too many “White males” in leadership positions.
The group had “Concerns that representation in the village is homogenous, monolithic, and patriarchal, thereby excluding people of color as well as people of different ethnicities and other backgrounds,” RGW’s reports reads.
RGW also reported it had “[c]oncerns that village’s residents, business, and leaders are failing to change with the times and to recognize shifts in politics and demographics.”
RGW went on to provide a remedy.
“Implicit Bias Training for all employees building off training we conducted last February,” a report recommendation reads. Other steps RGW Consulting laid out for Glen Ellyn were to establish a community relations commission to deal with DEI issues going forward.
“Promote equality among all persons so that each will have an opportunity to live in the Village and / or secure employment on a fair and equal basis,” one recommendation reads.
Washington and RGW disclose in the report foreword the DEI program cost $15,000 for 25 hours of discussion and six YouTube videos.
