Village of Hanover Park issued the following announcement on June 4
The Village of Hanover Park is pleased to announce the appointment of Assistant Chief Eric Fors to the position of Fire Chief. Assistant Chief Fors will be sworn in as the Hanover Park Fire Chief by Mayor Rodney S. Craig at the Hanover Park Village Board Meeting on June 17, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. with an effective start date of July 2, 2021.
Assistant Chief Eric Fors began his career with the Hanover Park Fire Department as a Part-time Firefighter/EMT in October of 1997. Appointed full time in April 2001, Chief Fors has been promoted through the ranks of Lieutenant, Battalion Chief, and has most recently served as Assistant Chief for the last five years.
Chief Fors holds multiple fire service certifications as well as a bachelor’s degree in Fire Service Management and a Master of Science in Public Safety and Homeland Security Administration. Chief Fors is also an Illinois Certified Paramedic.
Chief Fors has directed all Divisions of the Fire Department and has been awarded multiple commendations from the department and resource hospital.
Chief Fors is married to his wife, Kate, and they have two children William and Emma.
