Elmhurst Park District issued the following announcement on Feb 17.
Eldridge Lagoon is currently CLOSED for ice skating and the red flag is up. Unfortunately, the snow acts as an insulator and melts the ice.
Staff tests the ice in 6 locations and all 6 locations need to reach a consistent (3 day) thickness of 8 inches before we will open the lagoon for skating again.
Status of the ice will be posted to the Rainout Line.
