Former DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan says DuPage County Auditor Bill White is avoiding being served in a case to see if a full recount is warranted involving their close election.
Grogan said in a Facebook update that White had avoided process servers seven times so far.
“At times even his garage door was open, but he won’t answer the door,” Grogran wrote in the Facebook post. “He must think we have a great case. It is embarrassing that as an officer of the court and a public servant to just stall. I will tell you when my audits delayed an audit moving forward, it often meant they were afraid of the results.”
Grogan said in the post that as a CPA, he and his team spent two weeks looking through one-fourth of the nearly 500,000 ballots that were cast and found hundreds of ballots that did not have the statutorily required judges' initials on them.
“If those ballots are thrown out, I would pick up more than 120 votes (I lost by 75),” Grogan said. “We also asked for a list of everyone who voted in the election and it was +1600 fewer than the total ballots cast. I am not a grand conspiracy person, if I lost so be it.”
Grogan wrote that White must not trust the justice system.
“After I calmly and rationally raised some issues we found during our discovery process, the next step is to have a judge evaluate whether we move forward, but Mr. White (a lawyer in an auditor job) must not trust the judicial system,” Grogan wrote in the Facebook post. “If you see Mr. White ask him ‘What part of vote counting are you afraid of?’”
Grogan shared a photo of White with the post, asking if anyone had seen him.
