Bensenville School District 2 recently issued the following announcement.
The Bensenville-Wood Dale Rotary Club and Bensenville School District 2 are continuing their annual Coats for Families partnership through November and December.
However, this year -- due to ongoing COVID concerns -- this effort will involve only brand new coats purchased through Operation Warm, and there will not be an in-person distribution event.
Instead, families in need of new winter coats should contact their school counselor or social worker for a referral. The counselors and social workers will work with Rotary volunteers to discretely distributed the coats on an individual basis.
FUMC 2020 KIDS COAT DRIVEFirst United Methodist Church of Bensenville will be hosting its in-person 2020 Kids Coat Drive on Saturday, November 7, from 9-11 a.m. at the church, which is located at 328 S. Church Road.
While supplies last, the church will be distributing free costs, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens to students in Grades K-5.
All attendees must wear face coverings, and will be required to sign a COVID tracking shhet to certify their health condition.
