83 percent of applicants to Wheaton College were admitted for fall 2018

At Wheaton College, 99 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Wheaton enrolled 2,944 students in fall 2018, including 2,401 in undergraduate and 543 in graduate programs, data shows. 2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

21 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 70 percent are residents of other states. 9 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Asian (9 percent).

The school admitted 83 percent of the 1,850 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 40 percent enrolled.
