Analysis: West Chicago pays $5.78 for every $1 pensioners contribute to West Chicago Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.8 percent of the $2,949,365 the West Chicago Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.78 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, West Chicago contributed $2,500,000 to the fund, which saw a $131,375 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $432,433, or 14.7 percent, in 2018. Another $16,932 came from other unspecified sources.
