Bensenville School District 2 recently issued the following announcement.
The shift to remote learning has temporarily transformed our approach to teaching and learning.
To provide educators the time they need to make this adjustment, the Illinois State Board of Education has directed districts to build five Remote Learning Planning Days into their calendars. District 2’s first Remote Learning Planning Day was Monday, April 13. The remaining four are as follows:
- Friday, May 1
- Friday, May 8
- Friday, May 15
- Monday, May 18
Although teachers will be working during these Remote Learning Planning Days, no new remote learning lessons will be scheduled, and student attendance will not be recorded.
Instead, teachers will use this time to collaboratively develop and refine remote learning lesson plans, determine end-of-the-year requirements and discuss provisions for the transition back to school.
Students and families are welcome to continue work on their lessons on Remote Learning Teacher Work Days, but teachers will not be available to provide support and answer questions during their normal office hours.
