ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 56: Mussman Invites Residents to Virtual Town Hall

56

Illinois State House District 56 issued the following announcement on April 23

To help keep residents updated on the latest information regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, state Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, is partnering with Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison to present a Virtual Town Hall through Facebook Live on Friday, April 24 at noon.

“Speaking with the community face-to-face is one of my favorite parts of being a public servant, and although I am practicing social distancing, I am still committed to remaining accessible to the community through events like this one,” Mussman said. “Screen-to-screen will never replace face-to-face, but it is an excellent way to get accurate, updated information out to members of our community.”

Mussman and Morrison are partnering to present a virtual town hall to discuss COVID-19 responses and resources available to the community. They aim to answer questions about the health and safety of residents, as well as provide information on support for small businesses, volunteer opportunities, mental health resources and food support programs. The town hall event can be accessed through Facebook Live at @CommissionerKevinBMorrison.

“Dealing with the pandemic has been an ever-changing situation for all of us, and I think it is imperative that the community is up to date with information on what different levels of government and state agencies are doing in response,” Mussman said. “I invite all residents to join us for this virtual town hall and hope that it will be a very informative session.”

Mussman represents the 56th District, which contains portions of Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Roselle, Rolling Meadows and Palatine.
