2019 Recap: Parolees in Hanover Park convicted of crimes against children

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole in Hanover Park during 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Hanover Park were men. The younger parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced in 2018. The other was a 43-year-old man sentenced in 2013.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Brian Jones. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2013 when he was 36 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
