Illinois State House District 41 issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.

On Wednesday we celebrate President Abraham Lincoln’s 211th birthday. “Honest Abe” was the 16th President of the United States, and served from March of 1861 until his assassination in April of 1865. He led the nation through a time of great political turmoil during the American Civil War.

We are fortunate to have one of the greatest Presidential Libraries right here in Illinois. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is located in Springfield just a few blocks from the Capitol. My Springfield office has free passes to the library available to residents of the 41st District. If you would like to use a free pass so your family can enjoy the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, please call my Springfield office at (217) 782-6507 a minimum of two days in advance to make arrangements.
