U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) is offering voters another reason for supporting Jeanne Ives in her run against incumbent U.S. Rep. Sean Casten (D-Downers Grove) in Illinois’ 6th Congressional District.
"If you can’t stand it when Democrats just call everyone a racist when they disagree on policy, then please donate to this awesome GOP candidate, Jeanne Ives,” Crenshaw recently posted on Twitter. “Flip the seat.”
The former Navy Seal’s growing interest in the race comes after Casten vilified him as a racist in session earlier this month when Crenshaw brought up anti-semitic statements that have been attributed to U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota).

Ives and Casten are embroiled in a heated race in which Ives has accused Casten of engaging in “leftist fantasies” and “not working for the people.”
Ives served six years as a state representative in the 42nd District and narrowly lost out in her 2018 run against then-Gov. Bruce Rauner in the Republican primary.
