Ives Responds to Casten Hyping Kavanaugh Impeachment

Courtgavel087

Issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.

US Representative Sean Casten has taken to Twitter to join the extreme left in whipping up a frenzy over totally incredible allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The allegation is based on an essay based on a book, The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation, by Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly.

Included in the essay is the allegation of another victim. Left out of the essay, but included in the book, is the fact that the claim is actually denied by the victim.

And CBS News has reported that all four witnesses identified by Christine Ford as attendees of the party at which she was attacked do not recall any such incident.

"Sean Casten is an unreasonable, unserious person. Rather than working to pass a budget that helps lower taxes for the families in his district he spends his time hyping trivial matters like a high school mean girl," said Ives. "He talks about the world ending in 12 years. He's on board with a plan that would abolish private healthcare, like families get from their employers. Rather than respecting the rule of law, he aligns himself with those who want open borders and the abolition of our Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. And he compares the president to 9-11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, when he isn't working to impeach him - whether voters like it or not.

"In a CBS report, both Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said they did not support the impeachment of Brett Kavanaugh. Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, when asked about efforts to impeach Kavanaugh, responded, 'Get real.'

"Sean Casten supports politically-motivated smear campaigns over due process because he is an ideological extremist. Assassinate someone's character, ignore due process, when the allegation turns out to be uncorroborated, walk away. He represents the worst of our venomous politics.

"I am running because the Sixth District deserves a representative who has a record of representing her district, not pushing his political fantasies.

"My record shows that I worked for reforms that broke up bureaucratic scams being run on taxpayers.

"I have worked with Democrats on issues like healthcare access and government accountability.

"The Sixth District is made up of problem-solvers with commonsense. Casten represents a minority of radical Democrats with silly ideas. Nothing about him is representative of our community."
