City of Wood Dale issued the following announcement on Aug. 5.
Family, friends, representatives from City Council and the community all had the distinct pleasure of honoring an outstanding former member of the Wood Dale community with the ceremonial unveiling of the Honorary Roy Sye Way on Thursday, August 1.
Roy Sye Way honors the longtime 30+ year Wood Dale resident who served the community in numerous capacities including being a City alderman, public works employee, Wood Dale Fire Department firefighter and commissioner, member of the City’s Stormwater Committee and chairman of the Community Development Commission. Mr. Sye passed away in 2018.
Roy Sye Way extends along Cedar Avenue between Stoneham and Commercial Streets.
