Illinois State House District 45 issued the following announcement on July 30.
In effort to generate genuine discussion in the Veterans community, state Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, hosted her Veterans advisory panel with two different generations of veterans in attendance as well as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Dupage County, Tuesday morning.
“Taking the initiative to find and speak with veterans within the community is important to me, and having been able to gain the dichotomous insight into how to build a stronger community from a Vietnam War and Iraq War Veteran was a great source of motivation,” said Pappas. “I look forward to working more with NAMI Dupage as well as veterans and their family members to support job opportunities, education and community building post-deployment.”
