Illinois General Assembly: HB2437 actions on May 22

The following actions were taken on May 22 in the House on House bill HB2437 ("domestic-economic abuse"): "Held on Calendar Order of Second Reading - Short Debate" and "Second Reading - Short Debate".

The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. Mary E. Flowers (D-31) on Feb. 13, "amends the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986 and the Protective Orders Article of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963" and "includes economic or financial abuse in the definition of "abuse"," according to the General Assembly website.
