Former state university employee Drumtra Froemming paid in $6K to pension fund, could collect $552K in retirement

Former state university employee Donna Drumtra Froemming, who retired in August 2017, saved $6,319 toward a pension over 6 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Drumtra Froemming would collect as much as $552,373, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes DuPage Policy Journal.

The projection assumes Drumtra Froemming received $11,610 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 1 years of retirement, Drumtra Froemming will have already received $11,610 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
