City of Darien Municipal Services Committee met Feb. 25.

a. Discussion V- Final-Refuse Container-Consideration of an Ordinance to amend the City Code provisions on storage of refuse containers in residential areas.
b. Discussion - Update I-Approval of a text amendment to Section 9-1 of the City Code adding restrictions regarding the idling of vehicles.
4. New Business
a. Resolution - Approval of a resolution for the 2019 City of Darien Zoning Map for publication.
b. Ordinance - Approval of an ordinance granting an extension to the PUD amendment for the AMVETS Collection Center in the Darien Towne Center shopping center.
c. Resolution - Consideration of a request by DuPage Public Safety Communications (DUCOMM) to approve their IGA regarding their equipment on the City cell towers at 1041 S. Frontage Road.
d. Ordinance - Approval of an ordinance authorizing the disposal of surplus property
e. Resolution – Approval of a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract for the 2018 Street Maintenance project between the City of Darien and Brothers Asphalt Paving Inc. The following schedule of pricing: base bid - $1,413,669.00; alternate 1 - Summit Road - $ 93,892.40; alternate 2 – patching - $58,500.00; for a total of $1,566,061.40.
f. Resolution – Authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract extension with Rag’s Electric Inc., for the 2019/20 Street Light Maintenance Contract beginning May 1, 2019 through April 30, 2020.
g. Resolution - Accepting a proposal from Norwalk Tank Company for 36-inch High Density Polyethylene Pipes, as required for various Public Works projects.
