Report: Darien spent $11,151 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Darien School District 61 is up 16.5 percent from five years ago, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Dupage County school district spent $9,571 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,151 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1631 to 1500.

Darien's spending in 2017-18 was 16.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
