Analysis: Village of Roselle proposes $45M budget for 2019

Budget 01

The new budget proposed by Village of Roselle calls for $45,349,065 in expenditures in fiscal year 2019, which is 1.7 percent more than what this year’s budget provides.

Officials have until Dec. 31 to approve a budget.

The village proposes spending $2,026,405 on municipal worker pensions, which is 4.5 percent of the total budget. The pension amount reflects taxpayer contributions to current police and fire employees, as well as other municipal employees.

A total of $7,714,485, or 17 percent of total village expenditures, would go to police protection, while fire services represent 9.8 percent of the 2019 budget, or $4,430,480. Contributions to the Illinois Municipal Retirement fund total $270,130, or 0.6 percent.

The budget proposal mentioned no tax or fee changes.
