The new budget proposed by Village of Clarendon Hills calls for $19,040,000 in expenditures in fiscal year 2019, which is 3.9 percent more than what this year’s budget provides.
Officials have until Dec. 31 to approve a budget.
The village proposes spending $759,709 on municipal worker pensions, which is 4 percent of the total budget. The pension amount reflects taxpayer contributions to current police and fire employees, as well as other municipal employees.
A total of $2,954,317, or 15.5 percent of total village expenditures, would go to police protection, while fire services represent 7.8 percent of the 2019 budget, or $1,491,687. Contributions to the Illinois Municipal Retirement fund total $203,097, or 1 percent.
The budget proposal mentioned the following tax or fee changes: a 2.1 percent increase in the property tax rate.
