Stephanie A. Kifowit led Republican Patty Smith in votes cast in Naperville Township for the District 84 state House race, according to the latest vote count.
Kifowit appeared to outpace Smith by a margin of 31.1 percent on Tuesday in the township.
In comparison, the 2014 winner, Democrat Stephanie Kifowit, won by a margin of 17 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Republican Krishna Bansal, who received 4,057 votes to Kifowit's 5,719.
