Republican Jay Kinzler is running for a state House seat in the 46th District.
Gordon Jay Kinzler hopes that voters will internalize one basic truth about how he differs from his opponent in the 46th District.
“I want them to remember that I will do the things that reflect the will of my constituents while she will do what Mike Madigan tells her to do,” he told DuPage Policy Journal of incumbent Rep. Deb Conroy (D-Villa Park). “I’m an independent thinker and will truly do what I think is best for the residents of the district.”
With Conroy having taken at least $1.3 million from Madigan and his political organizations this election cycle, Kinzler said she is beholden to the House Speaker in ways that prevent her from putting the interest of area voters first.
Incumbent Rep. Deb Conroy (D-Villa Park) is seeking another term.
“Mike Madigan and Democrats have pretty much been in charge of the state for the last 45 years,” he said. “Over that time, the state has degenerated ethically, morally and economically. I’m asking voters to look at the situation and admit to themselves that it’s not going well for them. We need to be doing something different, and my candidacy is all about different.”
Winning his own race would hopefully be just the start of bringing about the kind of change that Springfield is in desperate need of, Kinzler said.
“If we can emerge victorious in the 46th and a few other places, we could finally oust Madigan as Speaker,” he said. “He and Democrats have [put] this state on a path to financial disaster where people can’t even afford to stay in their own homes.”
Kinzler said a good start would be getting property and income tax rates under control.
“A lot of people [are] hurting when it comes to those fronts,” he said. “I think people have finally had enough of Mike Madigan and are ready to put him and his policies out to pasture.”
The 46th House District includes all or parts of Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Lombard and Villa Park.
